Can't wait to get this for my 486

EDIT: oops I just bought it

Great work! I love the Castlevania II vibes, and the spritework is amazing! Catchy music, too! 🕯⚔⚰

well it directly tells me that I cant run this app on my computer and that I should contact the software creator to get a fitting version...

for the record i had taken the shareware standalone , having windows 10 with a rather old notebook

the +launcher version is for modern pcs

I'm too bad to beat (what I assume is) the first boss...

alright I beat 2 bosses but cannot for the life of me find the third one, I have 3 health crystals found and 2 chain upgrades found but can't seem to obtain the rest, my third boss left is the one that I assume gives water walk or something

very good

where on earth is the second blood crystal?

graveyard :o

MUSIC

wow lovely and i love castlevania so much so this is so fuking cool omg i love u.

Good game with nice graphics.+1 for being a DOS game!

Ugh and only now I read that you explicitly have to press the 'save' button to really save progress ... damnit. Ah well, will have to live without beating the last boss then :-(

Btw, even though it was a frustrating game for me, still like it, it did feel like an accomplishment beating bosses and levels. So, I think the balance is quite good. Nicely done!

so cool

Anzu Castle Gracula Gameplay

Great looking game, but frustratingly hard for me ... will keep trying a bit more though.

QB! So freaking awesome buddy :)

Unfortunately your SoundBlaster compatibility isn't since the SBMIDI.EXE driver/player isn't compatible with the SoundBlaster 1.0, 1.5, or 2.0 (it only works with SoundBlaster Pro and later).  You may either want to find/make a SBMIDI.EXE that works with the original SoundBlaster 1.x/2.0, or change your stated sysreqs.

updated the standalone downloads with an optional alternate driver for sb 1.5/2.0, thanks for the heads up

I decided to just use Dosbox which comes with the game to play this game.

I'm not sure if I could put this in metroidvania category. It has traits of metroidvania but kinda missing requiring item for progression.

Anyways, ignoring that, good game. Kinda tough in deeper parts but not something I couldn't manage. Bosses are tough also though I think I beat them in wrong order. Skultopus (the first one I beat) is the hardest while SkelAngel (the last one I beat) might be the easiest.

I wish final boss' second form is less cheap (both in AI and animation) and allow more flexibility in attacking it. And subweapons could be repositioned to make them more useful. I ended up not using throwing scythe cause by the time I get it, I have no need for it. Holy water is useful but too bad I got it late. Crossbones (my favorite) is useful and I got it mid way.

Nonetheless, it's a good game and I had fun playing it :D. I love exploring all paths to find new areas and stuffs.

I love the look of this! I will be trying this out sometime on a couple of my DOS machines and maybe some early Windows 9x machines.

Have a nice day everyone

very good

So the "throw subweapon" thing.  Is the silver dagger at the start of the game not a thrown weapon?  Because no amount of pressing "C" seems to want to throw it.

subweapons require hearts that are dropped from candles and enemies

Oh.  That wasn't at all clear.  OK.

bruh

I've tried the downloadable version but it says "File not found in module QBVania at address 0DD3:28E4".

Did I miss anything?

i made a kinda silly mistake, try redownloading it might be fixed now

Thanks, I've tried this one and this time the error message was: No EMM driver detected.

it needs ~3mb of ems memory to run with sound, a line like DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE 3072 in your config.sys

Great game! Plays good on RetroArch with DosBox-Pure core!

Nice game!

Is there a save in the downloadable version? There's a "continue" option but it just seems to send me back to the beginning.

pressing up on the angel statues allows you to save

Thank you!
